Step Inside ABI
Stepping into the American Barber Institute is not just a visit — it's a transformative experience, and the tour is your passport to a world of insight. The first thing you'll notice is an incredibly friendly staff, ready to guide you on your exploration.
During your tour, engage our staff in conversation and ask about their journey teaching the next generation of barbers — you'll discover a genuine passion for imparting knowledge that goes far beyond a job description. Then take a moment to speak with our students. They are the living testament to the culture we've cultivated: the camaraderie, the support and the shared joy of learning that defines our institution.

Inside Our Facility
ABI is licensed by the New York State Department of Education. Our two-floor, 3,000-square-foot Manhattan facility dedicates one floor to theory and one to hands-on practical training.

By Subway
The following subway trains all run within a few short blocks of the school: B, D, F, V, N, Q, R, S (shuttle), W, 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6 & 7.
By Bus & Rail
Buses stop within one or two blocks of the school: M6, M7, M10, M20, M27, M42 and M104. At the nearby Port Authority Bus Terminal: M1, M2, M3, M4, M98, M101, M102, M103, Q32 and X25 — plus the Metro-North Railroad. Port Authority offers frequent service to virtually all of New Jersey, Westchester County and Upstate NY, as well as parts of Long Island and Queens.
