ABI has trained New York barbers for decades, and we believe anyone with a passion for the craft should be able to afford quality training. Here's how qualified students cover the cost.
New York State's vocational rehabilitation program supports individuals with documented disabilities in obtaining and maintaining employment. If you qualify, ACCES-VR can cover your tuition, tools and supplies for barber training.
ABI accepts VA education benefits, including the Post-9/11 GI Bill® (Ch. 33), VR&E (Ch. 31), the Montgomery GI Bill® and DEA (Ch. 35). Benefits can cover all or part of your tuition, and we certify your enrollment with the VA.
Not eligible for a funded program? Every ABI schedule includes a built-in payment plan — pay a down payment at registration, then weekly payments from $150 while you attend the 500-Hour Master Barber Program.
Financial aid only matters if the training is worth it. American Barber Institute is licensed by the New York State Department of Education, and our program blends hands-on training, classroom instruction and real-world client work so you graduate ready for the State Board exam and the shop floor.
